Why we have a cookies policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies we use on monitoragent.app, why we use them, and how you can control them. We use as few of these as we can while still running a useful site.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser. They let the site remember things between visits — like which language you chose or whether you have already agreed to analytics. Some cookies are set by us; others are set by third-party services we rely on.

What we use, and what is optional

  • Strictly necessaryThese are required for the site to work. They store your language and theme choice, your cookie consent decision (so we don’t ask again), and basic security state. They are set automatically and do not need consent because the site cannot function without them.
  • Analytics — cookieless by default, cookies only with your consentGoogle Analytics 4 helps us understand which pages people read, which calls-to-action work, and where the site breaks. Before you make a choice it runs in a restricted, cookieless mode: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, reads nothing from it, and sends only aggregated measurements that carry no identifier for you. Click “Accept” and it switches to full analytics, setting the cookies described below. Click “Reject” and Google Analytics is not loaded at all — for you it stops entirely.

We do not currently set marketing or personalization cookies. If we ever add cookies of those types, we will ask for your consent separately and update this policy before loading them.

Google Analytics 4 details

When enabled, GA4 sets cookies (typically named _ga and _ga_<id>) and processes data through Google. We have IP-anonymization on, we do not link analytics data to your account, and we do not use it for advertising. You can read Google’s own description at policies.google.com/privacy.

Changing or withdrawing your choice

You can change your decision at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Rejecting stops cookie-based analytics straight away and keeps Google Analytics from loading on future visits. Analytics cookies already stored in your browser are not deleted by that action — you can remove them yourself in your browser settings, which is also where you can block cookies outright; doing so may affect parts of the site that rely on strictly necessary cookies (for example, your language preference).

Changes to this policy

If we add, remove, or change any cookie categories, we will update this page and ask for your consent again where the law requires it.
